The native iOS front end for a Tinder-style dating app, built as an embedded team alongside the client’s back-end engineers.
About the project
The client is an international tech company that specializes in custom software development, web development, and digital transformation. They approached us with the request to assist their on-premise engineers with the front-end part of one of their projects — a dating app. After a thorough analysis of the user needs and possible bottlenecks, we developed and implemented a solution that exceeded the client’s expectations.
The challenge
The client’s request was to create a mobile application similar to Tinder. They decided to test the waters with iOS and, in case of high retention rates, proceed with the Android operating system. The client had a team of back-end engineers, who were already working on the server-side. However, since all their front-end developers were busy with other projects, they needed assistance. That’s why the client reached out to us with a team augmentation request.
The solution
Several experts from Define Solutions seamlessly joined the client’s team. Since the client already worked out the solution, we immediately proceeded with its implementation. Using their UI prototypes, we developed a basic dating app with the following features:
- Registration and login
- Manual search based on location, gender, and age
- A default search function on location, gender, and age
- User profiles with a photo and personal information
- Private chat
- Notifications (push/local reminders)
The result
After the client received the front end side of their dating app, they proceeded with the server-client integration.
